Empathy 360
Mission
Empathy 360 is an NYU Langone Health enterprise-wide effort to center empathy as a fundamental value.
Goal
Empathy 360 aims to inspire all 48,000+ NYU Langone employees to practice empathy as a core skill through action, communication, and connection and to validate it in others.
Empathy 360 has been designed to be:
Employee informed - From conception to implementation, this initiative is generated by employees’ ideas and experiences;
People-centered - Empathy is relational and begins with how we see and understand one another, free of judgement, stigma, and discrimination. Equity will be prioritized throughout the process;
Iterative - The initiative will be refined and improved through a cycle of feedback, evaluation, and adjustments;
Engaging, Educational, and Impactful - This collaborative, enterprise-wide initiative aims to make us better practitioners of empathy through the creation of films, art, interactive experiences, materials, classes, seminars, fun, and more.
Partnerships
The Empathy Project is collaborating with NYU Langone’s Human Resources, Workplace Culture and Inclusion, and Marketing and Communications, Langone Academy, and Humanities in Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. We look forward to expanding this list of collaborators as Empathy 360 grows.
